A teenager has been charged with possessing a knife after we targeted patrols in West Bromwich town centre.

A 16-year-old boy from Wednesbury has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon and possession of class B drugs.
He is due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court next month.
This comes after officers from our Project Guardian team targeted their patrols to West Bromwich Town Centre yesterday afternoon
We were alerted to some suspicious behaviour, and a teenager was detained by officers following a foot chase.
A knife was also recovered.
Project Guardian is a specialist taskforce which tackles knife crime and youth violence.
There is particular emphasis on reducing knife crime in under 25-year-olds, through a range of tactics from plain-clothed operations to high visibility patrols.
